Brighton Internship Programme

Last year, Brighton Internship Programme (BIP) successfully placed 15 graduate interns with local creative businesses. This year, BIP is back and bigger than ever. We’re looking to place recent graduates with 25 Brighton-based companies for a 6 week scheme starting in September 2008.

You’ll need to be:

  • Interested in a career in digital media – we expect to have positions available in web, tv, games and virtual worlds companies
  • Brighton-based (or thereabouts!)
  • Ideally a graduate. But don’t worry if your degree isn’t in a digital media-related course – at least some of these internships will be in support roles such as marketing and project management
  • Able to fit in a 6 week placement, full or part-time between September and December 2008

And if you’re selected, you’ll get:

  • A credible internship in a sought after company
  • Cracking contacts and invaluable experience
  • High level training
  • Respected references for your CV
  • A grant for the period of the internship £££
  • 6 week placement over a three month period – so you can fit it around another job

You can sign up today for free and make sure you’re kept updated with progress. So you’ll know who the companies are, what positions are available and how to apply as soon as we do.

Get updated here and make sure you’re first to hear about the opportunities as they come up.

Testimonials

"I would like to say thank you to the BIP for offering a great programme. I was in transition between jobs and interested in exploring other career options. The BIP offered a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in another field. My experience of internships in the past has been that they are often unstructured and lead to very little valuable or real work experience, but the BIP was different. The people running this should be commended for their commitment to offering interns valuable experience, training and insight. I am now embarking on a completely new career path, and I have the BIP to thank."

I'd recommend the Brighton Internship Programme to anyone looking at working in the digital sector, as it provides vital experience that enhances your CV and in doing so dramatically increases your chances of employment. While involved in the programme I learnt key skills that you can only gain through experience and was provided with access to insightful seminars that covered a variety of topics. These skills are not only useful in gaining employment but are also useful once you are employed in your day to day activities.

"This allowed me to learn a huge amount about this industry first hand, and at the same time, my own experience and educational background was very much embraced by the company. It was very refreshing to be given this opportunity. It has become notoriously hard for graduates to get their foot on the ladder."

"Maria enjoyed being a part of the team and being taken to Nottingham to meet everyone and see how the whole project works. She liked being asked her opinion on ideas and said that often people do not want to know what she thinks about the work She was easy going, hard working and self-motivated and very accomplished in 3D Max - understanding and working with it quickly. I would be happy to write recommendations and references for her and we are looking forward to her moving to Brighton and the potential of being able to work with her in the future. We will fully credit Maria's efforts on the project when it is installed in West Bromwich in the museum called The Public and will open in June."
