Digital Horizons

Digital Horizons is a highly innovative, year-long course, created by Wired Sussex, SEMN, Screen South and Skillset, with support from SEEDA.

It aims to develop and train producers and developers in the digital content and screen industries at professional level, including employees in companies from the electronic games, e-learning, electronic publishing, film, mobile content, music, television, software and radio industry sectors. 40 participants, all based in the South East of England, were selected for this innovative training programme.

The programme runs until May 2008. Seminars and workshops throughout the year enable digital media practitioners and companies to meet, learn and share their areas of expertise, thereby capitalising on all the opportunities that cross-platform digital media affords.

Aims

  • To inform participants of the hardware and software technologies which will critically affect their products, their production processes and their routes to market over the next three years
  • To impart the skills and knowledge required to exploit the business potential of these technologies
  • To encourage the development of new collaborative partnerships
  • To provide case studies based on industry experience to inform and inspire participants
  • To facilitate the cross-fertilisation of ideas and intelligence
