Epic

Who are you, what do you do and why do you do it?

Tracy Capaldi- Drewett, Commercial Director, Epic.
Yes the name is confusing, particularly in terms of the gender! It's Mr.
Other than spending my life correcting the mountains of communications that I receive addressed to Mrs/Miss and Ms, I've had the privilege of working within the digital industry since 1989.
I joined Epic last year and have responsibility for sales and marketing as well as commercial responsibility for of the learning division of Huveaux. The passion I have for my vocation has recently been enhanced by the need to keep working. The birth of twins 8 months ago certainly does not promote the concept of slowing down!

Did you really want to become a founder member or were Nick's skills of persuasion too hard to resist?

I have friends and colleagues who have been connected with, benefited from and have a fondness for Wired Sussex and thus I am delighted to be invited to be a founder member.

What's going to happen to Wired Sussex in the next five years?

It will grow, but remain focussed on bringing further value to its members. Sustainability is key, meaning that winning new business is, and will remain, vital. Further collaboration at national, regional and local level with industry and stakeholders of the digital community will ensure that it has a "voice" and a message that is relevant.

What was your most unpleasant job (factory work included) and how did it help you to get where you are today?

I have undertaken some interesting roles throughout my life, however the most unpleasant job was a part time job whilst at school - Turkey plucking - it still haunts me and yet I think it helped me…… No I can't think of a single thing it has helped me with!

Everyone's got a book in them, what's yours?

Getting things started and finished - needless to say I haven't started it yet.

If you could pinch anyone's genius idea (myspace, youtube, the wheel) and claim it as your own, what would it be?

The "question" as the demand will never go away.

When you're not being a big cheese and making important decisions, what do you do for fun?

Negotiating with my 15 year old daughter.
