Keith Trigwell

I wouldn't consider myself to be a natural designer. Design is something which has come about as a result of other activities following my introduction to the internet, 14 years ago. My prime functions is as an ebusiness consultant offering strategy planning and analysis which is then followed by relevant and meaningful web design services with a view to successful attainment of your goals.

Coming from a background as a Recording Studio engineer (this being funded by developing database products for the insurance industry) I found a natural affinity with the technology and concepts of the internet and it's benefits.

Having finished a BA Honours Degree at Sussex University in Artificial Intelligence ( a branch of Computer Science) I immediately set about looking for ways to use the internet for marketing and business, developing a site for Ferrari owners to buy and sell their collectors cars.

After 6 months or so I had 52 Ferraris and Lamborghinis on my books but was then headhunted to the All England Lawn Tennis Club to take control of www.wimbledon.org, the largest sports events web site in the world.

I stayed with the AELTC for two years where I achieved great levels of success and notoriety with mentions in the official programme and The Sunday Times. In my final year at AELTC the site hit almost 1 million hits per minute (987,000).

I was then recruited to the Rugby Football Union to take over their online operations. By presenting at board level he attained budget and ‘buy-in’ for projects which delivered massive growth in the RFU’s online enterprise where a flagging web site was resolved into a successful application, central to RFU operations, finances and communications.

I added to the RFU proposition by designing requirements for both a bespoke content management system, a bespoke and flexible CRM system (through inter-departmental liaison with IT and governance) and integrated this within a workable and commercially advantageous environment, negotiating and exploiting commercial opportunities for both sponsorship contracts and joint marketing operation. This delivered :

1. 20 fold growth in turnover from £120,000 per to £2,400,000, in three years,
2. reduced communication costs to a fraction across both central and regional areas,
3. provided 90% of all possible data. 10 times more than had been available previously
4. streamlined workflow processes, giving control of specific content areas to the relevant business owner within the corporate and
5. delivered accurate content and a consistent brand message.

Based upon search engine industry standards, newly found partners ran PPC campaigns and helped increase general search engine visibility. Site traffic levels were increased and over time further bolstered sales and increased membership from 4,500 to 168,000.

I also identified and implemented a customer-focussed strategy and launched several additional sites including a new, correctly branded central site ( www.rfu.com, www.england-rugby, www.community-rugby.com) providing a more focussed and relevant experience to different customer groups while supporting the different corporate stakeholders.

In 2005 I began retained work for The Diablo Music Group where I implemented a workable and flexible strategic direction, allowing the Group of companies to plan marketing and business opportunities in line with their overall strategic plan. In addition I am leading a project for a community based site for media professionals.
