A dynamic and diverse display of work was showcased at Short & Sharp, when five top local design agencies presented examples of their latest work to their peers, ranging from animation to sound design - all work of the highest quality created by leaders in their field.
Crush Art and Design opened the evening with examples of their graphic artwork, marketing ideas and advertising solutions for clients such as Smirnoff and Heineken.
Hudoq then demonstrated the work they've pioneered creating 2D and 3D animation and production, virtual photography and interactive design, their clients including The National Trust and the British Museum.
Littleloud showed their new show reel of 2D and 3D animation and motion graphics as well as a screening of their latest animation; a visualisation of Louis Carroll's Jabbywocky commisoned by Channel 4.
Renga Media - an animation production house, specialising in the development and production of animation and manga-based projects for TV broadcast and cinema, showed a 12 minute animation called A Brief History of Hell.
StudioTonne gave a demonstration of cutting edge software which has been designed to compose and develop music.
An informal networking session followed with sponsored bar and complimentary canapes supplied by Joggleberry Playhouse. This gave the digital media community the opportunity to share ideas and make valuable contacts for the future.
Darren Garrett from Littleloud commented, "I enjoyed doing the talk! You rarely get to show your work to such a big audience. I got lots of good feedback, other than that, good fun, good chats, good booze."
Sarah Elderkin, Creative Industries Officer at Brighton and Hove City Council felt that,"The work of the artists and designers invited to present at Short & Sharp helped to illustrate the excellent design practice there is in the city."
